Sakrament

WIP Premiered: ProPublica and Lady Parts Justice Art Benefit - Shoestring Press, Brooklyn, NY - May 2017

Performed to the traditional folk music of her native Kujawy region, Sakrament utilizes imagery from Polish Marian religious iconography to generate movement vocabulary around the idea of ritual as a shedding and transformation. Integrated with ballet and folk vocabulary, Sakrament transmutes personal and transgenerational trauma through the lens of Eastern European (Polish) queer identity.
